The BARE-2-B'ers are a notoriously dysfunctional group of fun loving demonstrators who peaceably assemble only once per year as a "political affiliation" of individuals to exercise their Civil and First Amendment rights of Free Speech. BARE-2-BREAKERS™ is a "statement!"

The BARE-2-B'ers express their pro-nudity views by demonstrating in the merriment and excitement of the Bay to Breakers stark naked, as a constitutionally protected demonstration against the insane phobia in the U.S. over the nontextile human body. Their nude demonstration's rhapsody on the transformative well-being of nudity has received prominent public acceptance by an open-minded and culturally mature city.

7 Mile Bridge Run is on Saturday April 17, 2010. There is no sure way to get in, except to have your entry form back to the Marathon Post office by two days after the registration forms are sent out.
The race is run by the Marathon Runners club a small group of individuals who put this event together for the local youth organizations.
I call it a mail lottery, Send in your Self Addressed Stamped Envelope ( business size or larger) by the third week of February to be sure to make the cutoff before the mailing out of applications. This year the applications were mailed out the first week of March, on Tuesday and the race closed by Thursday Noon. Next year make plans to get your app to the Marathon PO the same day you get it
The first 1500 back to the Marathon post office box are in. Many out of town and state clubs have taken to sending a prepaid fed ex or express Mail, envelope to get applications ASAP.

What does a Rotary Club do?

Most think a Rotary Club is an old man's lunch club. It just A'INT!!!

I joined about a decade ago to give back to a community that has treated me well. Now I am involved in producing a two day art show, giving away dictionaries to third graders and world atlases to sixth graders. I've been sent to Osaka, Japan to represent my club, I've seen projects all around the United States completed by well meaning, organized business people who've gotten together under the Rotary banner.

The four way test binds us:



Allow yourself to say yes to opportunities and you will be surprised with the number of wonderful people who begin to fill your life.

My bookclub discussed this title. It starts in the 90's and then the story turns to the author retelling her childhood from 3 years to 17 years under the influence of mentally ill yet genius parents. The ugly episodes of neglect and poverty and refusal to take responsiblity are dramatic. It made for an excellent conversation between 23 women whose opinions ranged from compassion to disbelief and disgust.

Read this book! If you like reading blogs. If you like reading a story that is told from the thrid person - which is like a gift when you read the graphic torture parts. If you don't mind a story not told in a linear fashion. If you like footnotes that bring history to life.

Learning to Breathe


Ever get an email that makes your stomach just tense up in knots and then the feeling of dread overcomes you in a wave.


I get these emails from someone I am required to interact with. I half way desire, half way reject the information in each post to me.
I've got to remember to take deep controlled breaths.
Shoulders back, chin up and then slightly down - not trying to be a haughty queen.
Shoulders back is a goal. Opening up your chest opens up your lung capacity. Closing down your chest restricts airflow and without knowing it causes increased feelings of nervousness and anxiety.
